Wildlife In The Garden

Baby deer

Part of the joy of gardening for me is designing the gardens to attract various wildlife, especially birds and butterflies.

My first foray into gardening for wildlife was to create my bird sanctuary so I could watch birds outside my kitchen window.

It was so successful! Click here to see some garden pictures of my first bird sanctuary.

I enjoy watching the many kinds of birds especially in spring when they all start to return right from the first robins and kildeers to more exotic birds including some woodpeckers (OK exotic to me!). I am just now learning to identify those I see and am enjoying the process. It's really something great to share with the kids.

I hope you enjoy the pictures I have been able to capture of the various wildlife in my garden. It's just a start for now, I hope to be able to add many more.
