Northern Flicker Woodpecker
We had the pleasure of seeing two Northern Flicker woodpeckers on the kitchen patio one evening around 7:30. The Northern Flicker spends much of its time looking for ants and small insects on the ground rather than in trees, hence the attraction of our patio! The bottom picture is of the male, as only the male has a black moustache type stripe.
