Pruning Schedule

Some detailed information on spring, summer and fall pruning.

Hemerocallis

I discovered the wonderful world of daylilies in my last garden and had just started to explore the many varieties when we moved. Click on one of the names below to see a picture and read about any of the following:

Spireas

I love the versatility and easy care of Spireas. There are well over 30 varieties of Spiraea for our area and I currently have 8 in my garden. The summer blooming spirea's are some of my favourite little to no care blooming shrubs. The only difficulty is in sometimes deciding which are which as the differences are subtle. Summer blooming varieties do well with a tidy up pruning in early spring and then a light pruning after bloom in July. The summer varieties bloom on new growth so pruning promotes more blooms.
