Woodland Garden Design Plan
An existing Hawthorn Grove inspired a desire to increase the amount of woodland gardens we had in our back yard. A large area of mainly grapevine and raspberry canes was cleared one spring and in it's place I started a woodland designed with fall colour in mind. As many native Ontario trees and shrubs were saved as possible.
The next year I extended the Woodland Garden as far as I could into our lawn area. I was somewhat limited as to how far I could extend the woodland as I did not want to plant trees to close to our septic system.
The back area is where we hide our compost bid (very large!) and woodpile.
